Gary Sweeney got the show on the road tonight at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast.

The Ballinrobe cruiserweight was the first Irish fighter up on the Boxnation ‘Homecoming’ and demolished Polish pncher Jarek Prusak inside a round.

A scheduled four rounder, Sweeney needed less to two minutes to finish the fight and get the night started with a bang

The 22 year old, making his Irish debut after two knockouts in England, started. Almost immediately the Connacht man landed with a huge left hook to the head before sending Prusak down with a combo to the body. Rising quickly, the Pole was then floored heavily by a right to the point of the chin. While he beat the count, Prusak was sent down once more with a right. Again he beat the count but looked disorientated and left the referee with no option but to wave off the bout.

The win sees Sweeney stretch his unbeaten record to 3(3)-0, while a shell-shocked Prusak drops to 8(8)-2(2).
