Carl Frampton to be awarded with honorary degree

Belfast’s Carl Frampton [23(14)-1(0)] is to be given an honorary degree from the city’s top university.

Queen’s University have announced that the two-weight world champion will be awarded an honorary degree from the college for his distinction in sport, and is one of 15 figures to be given the scroll this year.

The honour comes following a 2016 where Frampton [23(1)-0] unified his IBF super bantamweight belt with WBA portion of the crown following a grudge math with Scott Quigg, before moving up to featherweight to defeat Leo Santa Cruz and win the 126lbs WBA title.
