Frampton: The fight can be made, but if it’s not I have plenty of options

IT’S good to talk, that’s the message Carl Frampton has for Eddie Hearn amid fan fears the massive Frampton versus Scott Quigg clash won’t happen.

Hearn has said Quigg will now fight another opponent on July 18 and won’t be challenging for ‘The Jackal’s’ IBF super bantamweight World title. Frampton claims the clash could still be made if the Matchroom boss sat down with team Cyclone and trashed out a deal.

Hearn argues all avenues have been explored and talks have hit a dead end, but Frampton revealed there was one meeting in which the offer Hearn made via Skysports News was put on the table, indeed the Belfast star has claimed the Matchroom boss has made ‘a fool’ of himself via such antics.

The undefeated puncher remains open to a Quigg fight, but claims the Bury fighter needs him more than he needs the WBA regular champ and assured fans he has plenty of Summer time options.

“The fight can be made if Hearn will have a meeting with us. How do you make a fight if the other team won’t have a meeting?” said Frampton, when speaking to the Belfast Telegraph.

“Our team had one meeting with Hearn and everyone thought it went well and then they came out with the £1.5million offer for Manchester. Negotiations had not hit a brick wall.I’m the champion and they want me to go to Manchester and they promote the show.

“I hope the fight can be made but it can’t be made if people won’t talk.Even if it doesn’t get made for the summer, I have plenty of options – a lot more than he does that’s for sure, so everything will be rosy for us.”
