Frampton foresees trilogy of Santa Cruz fights
Carl Frampton is anticipating a legendary fight against Leo Santa Cruz later this month.
‘The Jackal’ takes on the three-weight World champion at the Barclays Centre in New York on July 30th for Santa Cruz’s WBA featherweight title.
Some people criticised Frampton’s PPV clash with Scott Quigg for being slightly boring, with the Belfast man comfortably outboxing Quigg early on. Indeed Frampton himself echoed these thoughts. However, the 29 year old feels that his upcoming scrap will be one to remember.
Speaking to BBC NI, he predicted that “it’s gonna be a fan-friendly fight”
“I think it’s going to be a very very good fight.”
“It’s gonna be one of these fights that people talk about for a very long time.”
Frampton even went as far as to say that his showdown with Santa Cruz could be the start of a multi-fight series, reasoning that “it’s one of these fights that is going to be so competitive that you are gonna want to see it again.”
“You could see a trilogy out of this”
