Frampton foe González Jr to headline PBC show next month
Alejandro González certainly impressed any dismissive onlookers back in July when he gave Belfast’s IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton a serious fright.
In their Premier Boxing Champions clash in El Paso, Texas, the young Mexican put ‘The Jackal’ down twice in the first round before Frampton regrouped and boxed his way to a unanimous decision points victory.
The spirited display however has obviously caught the attention of Al Haymon and co who have given ‘Cobríta’ a headline slot on a PBC card next month.
On Tuesday 11th November, the 22 year old will face Frenchman Karim Guerfi [22(6)-3(1)] in Austin, Texas, live on Fox Sports 1.
González [25(15)-2-2] will drop down to bantamweight for the ten round fight as he looks to get quickly back into title contention.
Guerfi is a former European champion, winning the belt off former Scott Quigg opponent Stephan Jamoye.
