Fire to keep Byrne-ing – Sky Sports return for ‘Irish Lightning’
He had his first win in nigh-on three years on Saturday night in Sheffield now Dean Byrne is hoping to make it two wins in three weeks.
‘The fire Byrnes’ again according to the Dublin fighter and he is keen to blaze his way back into big fight reckoning over the coming months.
Prior to his 58-57 points victory over Jamie Robinson the former Wild Card puncher was penciled in to face another welterweight prospect Darren Tetley in Leeds on April 16.
The Crumlin BC graduate is keen to prove another prospect was foolish to think he was a past his sell by date fighter, but does fear Tetley, a 10-0 prospect, will get second thoughts having watched how ‘Irish Lightning’ fared against a confident Robinson on the undercard of Kell Brooks mandatory IBF World title defence.
