Fighter that hospitalised Martin Rogan suspended according to reports

Erkan Teper the heavyweight, who inflicted a brutal first round KO on Martin Rogan in November 2013 has been suspended for failing a drug test, according to reports.

Reports last week alleged Teper, who broke the Belfast heavyweight’s jaw and forced him to consider retirement, had twice failed doping tests for international bouts, including a recent EBU heavyweight title fight against David Price in July.

It was also reported that authorities raided Teper’s room and vehicle in April, finding banned substances such as clenbuterol, testosterone, growth hormones and Methandrostenolone.

There has still been no official confirmation or suspension yet from the German Boxing Federation, or statement from the Teper Team, but World Boxing News have been told by the EBU that the former European Champion has been suspended until July of next year.
