Eubank Jr refuses to go head-to-head with Spike

After years of online insults, Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan and Chris Eubank Jr finally came face-to-face today – well, almost.

The pair were in London this afternoon for the opening press conference ahead of their December 12th showdown at the O2 Arena on the undercard of Anthony Joshua versus Dillian Whyte.

There was plenty of barbs thrown at the Trinity House, but when it came to a head-to-head, Englishman Eubank refused, reasoning that “he kissed his last opponent during the head-to-head. That is not acceptable.”

“Because of that, he has lost the privilege of going head-to-head with me today.”

Eubank was of course referring to O’Sullivan kissing Anto Fitzgerald ahead of another grudge match last November. Since then, the Cork man has knocked out a further four opponents in America, and returns to a ring on this side of the Atlantic with plenty of confidence.

Already, more than a few people have suggested that today’s press conference, and Eubank’s refusal to even entertain the notion of a head-to-head, suggests that O’Sullivan is already in the Brighton boxer’s head.

With just one month to go, all will be revealed soon.
