Sean Turner just can’t manage to get win number eight under his belt.
The heavyweight prospect was, along with his opponent, disqualified last time out, but was looking forward to progressing toward 10-0, a figure he is keen to get to so he can kick on, in Birmingham on Saturday.
However, his proposed clash with Imantas Davidaitis was called off last minute as the former Tommy McCarthy foe failed to meet weight requirements. Weight issues are usually non existent in heavyweight contest, but Davidaitis weighed in too light.
As a result the clash was called off and the Dublin 25 year old will have to wait for his eighth career win.
Even more frustrating at 6’8 the Latvian was meant to give Turner some valuable experience dealing with tall opponents in a division where giants are now prevailing.
