Debut date set for hot prospect Caoimhin Agyarko

Caoimhin Agyarko will make his professional debut later this month.

The Belfast middleweight has linked up with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions and will debut on a big BT Sport card in just under three weeks time.

Agyarko will punch professionally for the first time on Saturday October 20th at the Brentwood Centre in Essex on a bill topped by London light heavy Anthony Yarde.

‘Black Thunder’ will fight in a six-round contest as he looks to have a winning start to pro life, bypassing the four-round stage of his career in an encouragingly progresive move.

The West Belfast 21-year-old has relocated to London for his assault on the pros, basing himself in the iBox Gym in Bromley.

Agyarko, who has signed a management and promotional deal with Warren, will be trained in the pros by Al Smith and Eddie Lam.

The Holy Trinity graduate has been deep in training for the past six weeks ahead of his bow.

The fight will be Agyarko’s first since his stunning World Series of Boxing win over Clemente Hong Sik Kee where, fighting for the Italia Thunder, he stopped the Indian Ocean Games silver medallist in the fourth round.

Agyarko’s fight at the Brentwood Centre is hoped to be part of the live television broadcast and, at the very least, it is expected that it will be filmed and highlights shown on the night.

Also on the card in Essex, where Yarde boxes Argentinian Walter Gabriel Sequiera, will be a vacant British welterweight title fight between Gary Corcoran and Johnny Garton, a super middleweight match-up of unbeatens Umar Sadiq and Zak Chelli, a comeback for welterweight Bradley Skeete who is a new training partner of Agyarko, and an appearance for middleweight Joe Mullender.
