Conlan: I have finally got the chance to prove I am World class

SUPER flyweight Jamie Conlan plans to show he is a World level fighter by sinking Filipino prospect Daryl Basadre on the Titanic Showdown card in Belfast on September 6.

The 27 year old WBO European champion fights for ‘The Flash’ for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental strap on the under card of Carl Frampton’s massive world title fight with Kiko Martinez.

‘The Mexican’ is relishing the chance to pick up the second title of his career, take the step beyond European level and  prove to the 16,000 in attendance as well as those taking it in on TV that he is World class.

“I’ve been waiting for a chance like this for years. This fella looks like a decent boxer who can bang a bit too but I’m one hundred percent confident that I will prove far too much for him,” said Conlan

“I need to be fighting at this level as I’m now number eight in the World and soon I will be hopefully knocking on some doors. I can’t wait to box outdoors on this massive show and prove to the Belfast public that I belong at World level. I want to thank Cyclone Promotions for this opportunity and I am fully focused on taking that belt home!”
