Comeback Queen – Lynn Harvey confirms return to the pro ranks
‘The Hunter’ is back on the hunt.
Dublin flyweight Lynn Harvey [4(3)-1(0)] has taken the gloves off the hook and has decided to come out of retirement.
The 36-year-old Kilbarrack native returns to the pro ranks on the ‘The Beginning’ card scheduled for the National Stadium on Saturday July 7th.
The popular and determined puncher had stepped away from professional boxing after becoming frustrated and disillusioned by the unpredictable business-end of the sport.
Announcing her retirement in September of last year, the First Dates star cited ‘personal and professional’ reasons and bemoaned the ‘inconsistent nature of the boxing game’ and the effects it had on her.
It was a surprise announcement considering the former Novice, Intermediate, and Elite Senior champion had put her sole defeat to Mary Romero behind her with two inside the distance wins. Not to mention the fact her entertaining and brave style was winning her more and more fans plus she was generating press interest of note.
Still, the entertaining and ambitious fly couldn’t see a pathway to the top and hung up her gloves in frustration.
Harvey is now back having teamed up withJay Byrne and begins chapter two of her pro career on Assasin and JB Promotions debut offering.
