Ciaran McVarnock secures new fight date
Ciaran McVarnock [7(1)-0-1] will return to the ring next month as he looks to start moving up through the ranks.
It has been announced today that the Belfast featherweight will fight on Saturday June 24th on an MTK Manchester card at the Wythenshawe Forum.
After having just one fight in 2016, McVarnock would return to the ring in what was a Belfast homecoming at The Devenish Venue back in March, scoring a dominant four round points win over solid Croat Antonio Horvatic.
While he may have perhaps hoped for an appearance on one of the two big cards in Belfast next month, the Arnie Farnell-trained workhorse at least gets to box in his adopted home city.
An opponent for ‘Bunty’ will be confirmed in the near future.
Headlining the bill next month will be Carlow-Wythenshawe light middle Jimmy Kelly [21(8)-1(1)] who will look to build on his career-best win over Rick Godding when he challenges for the IBF East/West Europe title.
