Chris Blaney: “Keep ’em coming!”
Navan super middleweight Chris Blaney made it two wins from two last night in Walsall with a tough but comprehensive win over experienced Lithuanian Kirill Psonko.
The Meath 24 year old took a four-round points (40-36) at Banks’s Stadium in the short-notice bout, and was happy with his performance.
The Ginger Ninja told UKO Boxing afterwards that “I’m delighted yeah, I only had seven days notice for this fight.”
“I’ve been training, I’m fighting October 1st in Stoke, so I was always ready.”
Blaney is content with his current level of activity and wishes for it to continue, and explained that “I’m here to take fights whenever they come.”
“Keep ’em coming!”
The ten-time Irish underage champion also complemented his training set-up with Ricky Hatton in Manchester and described how “I’m learning every single day.”
“Even right before I came out I was learning new things just doing pads.”
“I don’t think it’s that different yet [to the amateurs], but I know when I step up – although that was a good step up from my last professional fight – with Ricky’s help I’ll be a top professional as well as a top amateur.”
“As long as I keep learning I’m going to keep winning.”
