Chemistry Cup DRAW – 6 Irish in action on Day One

Wayne Kelly and Michael Nevin are in action in the last-eight of the Chemistry Cup in Germany this morning.

The Portlaoise BC pair meet the Ukraine and India in Halle, with Nevin taking on Vikas Krishan who defeated Steven Donnelly at the Commonwealth Games earlier this year – a tournament he would go on to win gold at.

George Bates, Kieran Molloy, Conor Quinn and Kurt Walker are also between the ropes today in the quarter-finals.

Bates renews acquaintances with German star Artur Bril, Molloy is up against German teen Richard Meinecke while Quinn and Commonwealth silver medalist Walker are also up against Germans Umar Bajwa and Omar El Hag.

Day 1 will be decided over three sessions beginning at 11am, 2.30pm and 7pm (Irish times).
