Carroll’s Matchroom debut opponent confirmed

PRIZEFIGHTER Champion Jono Carroll will make his Matchroom debut against the fighter fellow Dub Philip Sutcliffe Jr made his pro debut against.

Carroll fights for the first time since lifting the Prizefighter Trophy above his head and signing a promotional contract with Eddie Hearn in Leeds this coming Saturday night.

‘King Kong’ fights Zoltan Kovacs on the undercard of Patrick Hyland target Josh Warrington clash with Dennis Tubieron.

Kovacs certainly won’t prove as high profile a scalp as Stephen Foster and Gary Buckland, but he is a tough operator nonetheless.

The Hungarian boast a winning record with 12 wins from his 18 fights and the only man ever to stop him was Sutcliffe Jr. The 22 year old also brought Belfast puncher Daniel McShane the distance.
