Carroll coming to Cork – latest addition to The Leeside Revolution confirmed
Sam Carroll [1-0] will add some Leinster interest to the ever growing ‘Leeside Revolution’ card.
The former Bray BC amateur becomes the third confirmed addition in three days to the Martin Horgan promoted Neptune Stadium hosted fight night.
The Pete Taylor trained fighter made his debut at relatively short notice on the ‘Clash of the Titians’ card and impressed despite coming into the stacked show under the radar.
The 2018 Intermediate champion now has a second fight date to look forward to having been confirmed to fight in Cork on July 20.
Carroll joins fellow Boxing Ireland fighter’s Siobhan O’Leary and Graham McCormack on the first show to come to the Rebel county in a decade.
The show will be topped by Noel Murphy. The Macroom fighter comes home from New York and hopes to challenge for the Irish title on the bill.
An opponent has yet to be confirmed for the 20-year-old, who beat Kamil Jaworek on his debut last March.
However, after passing a tough enough opening test Carroll, who also boxed for Rathnew, was keen to point out he would like to be moved fast. Indeed, he expressed a desire to fight for titles as early as two or three fights after his paid bow.
“I want to get my name out there as soon as possible,” he told Irish-boxing.com.
“I don’t really want to be hanging around. I would love a title fight in two or three fights. The sooner the better for me, I want to get my name out there.”
