Carl Frampton-Leo Santa Cruz Undercard Update
There have been a few changes and additions to Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz WBA featherweight showdown in New York on July 30th.
Chief support on the night at the Barclays Centre will come from returning two-weight champ Mikey Garcia [34(28)-0]. It has been announced that the Mexican-American will face former WBC featherweight champ Elio Rojas [24(14)-2(0)] in a lightweight/light welterweight contest.
Former two-weight champ and respected current analyst Paulie Malignaggi [35(7)-7(4)] has also been pencilled in to face Gabe Bracero [24(5)-2(0)], whom Irish fans may remember from his devastating knockout of Danny O’Connor last year.
WBA ‘regular’ middleweight beltholder Danny Jacobs [31(28)-1(1)], who had initially been thought to be chief support alongside Sergio Mora, has also been added to the card against a to-be-confirmed opponent.
Ricky Hatton’s Belarussian light middleweight Sergey Rabchenko [27(20)-1(0)] will face American Tony Harrison [23(19)-1(1)]
WBO Women’s featherweight champ Amanda Serrano [28(21)-1(0)] will now defend her belt against Venezuelan Calixta Silgado [14(9)-6(2)] rather than Dahiana Santana.
Frampton’s stablemates, Irish middleweight Conrad Cummings [9(4)-0-1] and Scottish light welterweight Josh Taylor [5(5)-0] will also appear against to-be-confirmed opponents.
