Byrne to take on Rios Gil

Rising light-welterweight star Dean Byrne will be in action on the undercard of Roman Karmazin’s December 20 showdown with Bronco McKart at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, California.
Dubliner Byrne will be hoping to take his undefeated record to 10-0 in a six-rounder against Francisco Rios Gil, who has won 13 of his 21 pro bouts to date.
Byrne has had a very active year under the tutelage of legendary trainer Freddie Roach, stopping Michaelangelo Lynks in May, outpointing Daniel Gonzalez in August before taking Geoffrey Spruiell out inside two rounds in September.
The bout with Rios Gil will be Byrne’s first since his recent sparring sessions with Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan ahead of their respective bouts with Oscar de la Hoya and Oisin Fagan earlier this month.
