Butler warms up for possible Conlan clash with stoppage win

Paul Butler warmed up for a possible Jamie Conlan clash with a KO victory over  Mexican Sebastian Sanchez at the Echo Arena on Saturday night.

Butler took out the tough foe with a body in the ninth round to take a step toward a second super flyweight World title shot and a third over all.

There has been attempts to make a proposed Butler Conlan clash a World title eliminator to no avail and there are now suggestions the pair promoters may hold off in the hopes the clash could be made if the Liverpool fighter was to win a World title.

However, it seem’s the pair are all set to meet at some point this summer, there was talk the clash was set for Dublin on April 30 on a card set to be topped by Billy Joe Saunders, but it seems more likely the popular Belfast fighter will have to travel for a bout he has been calling for, for a number of years now.
