Breen Blasts Team Winky

Jamie Conlan’s trainer John Breen has hit out at Camp Luke Wilton claiming they turned down a fight with his charge on the Martin Rogan versus Tyson Fury clash at the Odyssey on April 14.

Both fighters gave off positive vibes when asked about a potential clash a number of months ago- but its seems the all Belfast Lord of the fly’s dust up won’t happen anytime soon.

Breen, who also trains Paul McCloskey, says Team Winky turned down two decent offers to fight next month and have been offered the fight four times previous.

Indeed Wilton is scheduled to fight in the Holiday Inn on April 27 so an April 14 clash looks impossible ( details here: http://www.irish-boxing.com/2012/03/wilton-to-top-april-27-belfast-show/)

“They were offered big money to take the fight. They turned that down and then turned down a bigger offer,” Breen told The Newsletter.

“It is a joke and Luke has been in the press saying he wants the fight. They have been offered this fight at least five times and they keep saying ‘no.’ They must think Jamie will beat him and that’s why they keep turning it down.”
