Boxing Ireland Promotions have confirmed a third new signing in the space of four days.
The promotional outfit behind the Celtic Clash series officially added Belfast’s Michael Corr and Limerick’s Jamie Morrissey to the their roster last week and have announced a third new face within a matter of days.
Clonard ABC graduate Dylan Taylor is the latest addition to the growing stable.
Taylor isn’t the most high profile of amateurs, but has an Ulster Intermediate title to his name and has impressed Boxing Ireland enough for them to sign him up.
Explaining how the move came about Boxing Ireland’s Dennis Morrison told Irish-boxing.com: “Dylan’s coach Peter Graham from Clonard ABC contacted us some months back and said he’d like Dylan turn professional with Boxing Ireland Promotions.
“I didn’t know much about Dylan at the time but Peter spoke very high of him. However, with the lockdown measures in place I couldn’t go and have a face to face chat with them. Once the measures where toned down a bit I agreed to meet them,” he adds before revealing he used a spar with undefeated pro Owen O’Neill as pro gauge.
” Then I got to observe Dylan with Owen O’Neill. The ‘Cliftonville Canelo’ can give some Elite level fighters plenty of trouble in sparring so I knew this would be a good gauge for me to see where Dylan was at. It was clear to see from the first round Dylan was suited to the pros.
“He comes forward, strong as a bull and looks as though he can bang a bit too.
“He has a bit of work to do before he debuts but his coach Pete has a plan in place and a programme for his conditioning so its just a matter of time before we see Dylan in the ring for his debut.”
