Big Sexy goes bare-knuckle – Sean Turner confirms BKB debut

Sean ‘Big Sexy’ Turner will bare all!

The talented Dublin heavyweight is the latest Irish fighter to join the bare-knuckle boxing circuit, confirming a debut date this weekend.

The Shankill big man was revealed as a BKB fighter last October but was said to have trouble securing opposition and as a result, has yet to let his hands go in a bare knuckle ring.

Opponents no longer seem to be a problem with a March 26th debut confirmed.

Turner follows in the footsteps of fellow former National amateur champion and pro of relative note, Regan Buckley into the world of bare-knuckle.

‘Rego’ has already fought without gloves and registered a knockout win on his debut.

Irish-boxing.com understands one time World Series of Boxing competitor Turner was hoping for a return to the pro ranks but issues outside of the ring prevented him from getting a BUI license and he announced his decision to retire.

It’s believed the ever-entertaining heavyweight was then weighing up an amateur return, but just as rumour that was a possible avenue for the former senior champion, a BKB move was confirmed.

If ‘Big Sexy’ goes into BKB fit, focused and motivated Irish boxing may just have missed out. The 31-year-old at the very least could have been competitive domestically and is always box office when on it. Turner holds a win over Arnold Gjergjaj, who was world-ranked when he stopped him in Switzerland. He also went the ten-round distance with ‘world champion in waiting’ Filip Hrgovic, suggesting he is the most accomplished fighter in the BKB world.

Indeed such is his pedigree that some have raised concerns about Turner’s BKB suggesting he could do some real damage against the listed BKB heavyweights.
