Bernard Roe gets professional career off to perfect start

While it may not have been on the undercard of Roy Jones Jr as he had originally thought, Bernard Roe still had a debut to remember at the weekend.

The Dublin light middleweight fought on a Malta Boxing Commision show in Liverpool, and had a comprehensive win over dangerous Latvian Zaurs Sadihovs.

Going into the bout at the Olympia, Sadihovs had a winning record – with all four of his victories coming by knockout – however the 24 year old Dubliner was a class apart, winning every round and sending his opponent to the canvas in the second, en-route to a 40-35 points win.

Roe will now look to quickly build up his record and get into the domestic mix which includes quality fighters such as Craig O’Brien and Dee Walsh. Sadihovs on the other hand falls to 4(4)-4(1).
