Australian teen to turn pro in Ireland

Another fighter has joined up with Stephen Kavanagh’s growing stable at Kilnamanagh BC.

Thomas Finnegan, Liam Gaynor, Sean ‘Big Sexy’ Turner, and Sean Creagh have now been joined in the Tallaght gym by Adrian Farquhar.

This addition however is a little different. While the past decade has seen numerous Irish boxers such as Dennis Hogan and TJ Doheny turn pro in Australia, Farquhar is an Aussie who is turning pro in Ireland.

The 18 year old light welterweight was a high level amateur back home in the Australian capital of Canberra but, after a two-month visit here last year, has decided to go pro in Dublin.

A debut date, as well as promotional details, for Farquhar will be announced shortly.
