Anthony Joshua wants picture with ‘The Champ’ Katie Taylor

Not quite star struck, but one of the biggest boxing stars on the planet is definitely a Katie Taylor fan.

The three belt heavyweight champion was ringside as the Irish fight legend cemented her status as a genuine superstar of the sport with a sensational display in Madison Square Garden.

The Bray native’s dominant win over Eva Wahlstrom earned high praise from the great and the good of boxing and Joshua, who has an Irish grandmother, like anyone who watched the victory, was impressed.

The Big Brit felt the need to come into the dressing room post the IBF and WBA lightweight title defence and congratulate his Matchroom stablemate just like Conor McGregor did last time the Taylor record victory.

When asked by Taylor’s manager, Brian Peters, for a picture, the heavyweight champion of the world requested one for himself, later uploading the shot to his 7.8 million followers on Instagram.

Taylor has previously fought on three Joshua undercards including her WBA title win over Anahi Esther Sanchez last October. Both fighters are Olympic gold medallists and Joshua has been frequent in his praise of Taylor over the years.
