McCullough: I’ll punish Slowey and stop him in six
Marco McCullough is predicted a quick night’s work on November 20th when he takes on Scotland’s Jon Slowey.
The Belfast man acts as chief support to the Alfredo Meli-Conrad Cummings Celtic title fight at the Waterfront Hall, and the featherweight wants to put on a show in his hometown.
Southpaw Slowey [19(0)-2(0)] is a tough opponent for McCullough on a small hall show, and the Shankill man admits that “I could have fought an easier opponent, but Iām looking to fight good opponents.”
“He is a good fighter, but he has not fought at the level that Iāve had. He is a nice tidy boxer, fights on the back foot.”
McCullough, who has World title ambitions, is confident of a comprehensive win next month, promising that “Itās going to be a knockout. I think Iām too big and strong and Iāve got a good work rate and I think as the fight goes into the later rounds, Iāll punish him. Iāll say Iāll knock him out in 6 rounds.”
