Payday on Judgement Day as JB Promotions put €5,000 Bonus up for Grabs

It will be payday on Judgement Day for one lucky fighter.

JB Promotions have added an extra incentive to their upcoming National Stadium show, with one fighter set to walk away with a €5,000 performance-based bonus.

Jay Byrne revealed that the promotion has teamed up with OOOSCH to offer the huge prize this Saturday.

It’s a UFC fighter of the night styled trend but with a twist. The bonus will not simply go to the fighter who produces the best knockout or most spectacular performance on the night.

Instead, Byrne says the winner will be judged on their overall professionalism throughout camp and fight week.

“It’s a performance-based bonus,” Byrne explained when speaking to Irish-boxing.com.

“It takes into account all of camp — being professional in camp, doing your job, selling your tickets, coming in on time for press conferences, speaking well at press conferences, coming to the weigh-in on time, being in good shape, making weight, turning up and putting in a fantastic performance.

“It’s a collective of the whole lot,” he said. “It is a performance of the night as such.”

The JB Promotions boss believes the incentive could make a significant difference to some of the fighters competing on the card.

“That’s a nice bonus to some kids there that probably have never seen five grand,” Byrne said.
