Craig O’Brien Promise Amazing Performance to Make Ben Fail
Craig O’Brien believes an amazing performance can deliver an amazing victory over an amazing fighter on Saturday night.
The Dubliner was full of praise for unbeaten English prospect Ben Fail ahead of their WBA Continental Super Welterweight title fight at the 3Arena, but insists respect won’t stop him from pulling off one of the biggest wins of his career.
Having completed what he describes as an outstanding training camp, ‘The Iron’ says everything is in place to hand the Northampton fighter his first professional defeat.
“I’ve watched Ben. He’s an amazing fighter,” O’Brien said at the final press conference on Thursday.
“I feel I’m an amazing fighter and I feel we’re going to put on a cracker for you on Saturday night.”
“You have respect for anyone that gets in the ring.
“He seems a great kid and a great fighter. I know I’m the same, and I know I can beat him on Saturday.”
Asked for his prediction, the likeable Dubliner didn’t hesitate.
“I see nothing but a win on Saturday night.”
Fighting in front of his home fans only adds to the motivation.
With a packed Dublin crowd expected inside the 3Arena, the Celtic Warrior Gym fighter is eager to reward those backing him with the performance of his career.
“That’s the plan,” smiled the two time BUI Celtic champion.
“We’ve done everything we can. We’ve got the outfit ready, we’ve got the boots ready. We’re moving in there, slipping and moving on Saturday night.
“I see nothing but a win and an amazing fight,” he adds before stating he’s ready to go now.
“It’s amazing to be here. First of all, shout out to Pierce for bringing big-time boxing back to Dublin. It’s great to see.
“I’ve given an eight-week, nine-week camp and put everything into it. I’m just ready to fight now.
“I wish it was Saturday night at 7pm because I just want to go now. Weight’s good. Everything’s amazing.”
