Title on the line when Doheny makes US debut this month

TJ Doheny will make the sixth  defence of his PABA super bantamweight title in Boston on March 19.

The Portlaoise BC graduate starts the next chapter of his career on a card that includes Stephen Ormond, Niall Kennedy, Steve Collins Jr and Micheal McLaughlin with a major part of the story so far on the line.

Winning the continental strap has helped the 29 year old secure a WBA #6 ranking, and he now is keen to get his name mentioned among the elite in a division that includes Carl Frampton, Scott Quigg, Nonito Donaire and Guillermo Rigondeaux.

A move Stateside for a fighter who has moved up the ranks Down Under will give him a platform to that and he will be keen to impress on his Murphy’s Boxing and American debut.

Gerardo Marín Hernández Recio provides the opposition on a card that includes Stephen Ormond, Steve Collins Jr, Niall Kennedy and Micheal McLaughlin.

Hernández comes in with record of 13-3-1, Doheny has faced better opposition of late, but eight of the Mexican’s 13 wins have come by way of knockout suggesting that he does pose a threat.
