Light heavyweight title fight for Miles Shinkwin

Following his comeback win last weekend, Hertfordshire Rebel Miles Shinkwin [13(7)-1(1)] has been handed an English title shot.

The heavy-handed light heavyweight, who was beaten by Hosea Burton on the Frampton-Quigg undercard, has been granted a shot at Tom Baker’s [14(3)-0] belt.

Shinkwin will be hoping to exterminate the reigning champion, who defeated Bartlomiej Grafka via fifth round stoppage in a keep-busy bout at the York Hall last night.

Purse bids for the title bout are due by next Wednesday with the clash mandated to take place before the end of October.

Irish fans may remember Baker from last July when he scored a shut-out ten-round points win over the vastly outsized Darren Cruise. The Londoner won the English belt with another wide points win over Jack Morris in March.

28 year old Shinkwin scored a fifth round knockout over Eric Mokonzo in his return to the ring last week
