Belfast bantamweight sensation Ryan Burnet won the first title of his professional career last night.

The Youth Olympic gold medalist blew away the challenge of Robert Kanalas at the Manchester Arena to win the WBO European title.

The youngster almost ripped the Hungarian’s head off with a right hook in the second round. To his credit Kanalas rose to his feet but was quickly put back down twice before the referee waved off the bout.

Burnett will be hoping for a similar outcome next month when he takes on Jason Booth for the British title.
