Three time two weight Ulster champions and 2014 Commonwealth games medalist Joe Fitzpatrick signed his first professional contract in Belfast on Bank Holiday Monday.
The southpaw’s decision to change code generated hype in the boxing mad city and he signed the contract in front of the camera’s in Belfast.
Fitzpatrick joins Mark Dunlop’s growing stable and could debut as early as June 6.
Speaking about his new acquisition Dunlop said-
“He was a top amateur and he won silver at the Commonwealth Games. Joe has the ability and the talent to go the whole way.
“I have been in contact with Joe for over two years, so it is great to finally get his name on a contract. We will bring him along at a good pace. Hopefully we can get his medical and scan sorted out and he will fight on June 6,”
