U.S. pundits split on Frampton v Santa Cruz rematch

THe past year has seen Carl Frampton grab the attention of U.S. boxing pundits, grab the Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year award among others, and mark himself out as a genuine pound-for-pound talent.

This is now being reflected in the build-up to his rematch with Leo Santa Cruz, with ‘The Jackal’ no longer being written off as he had been before his triumph in their initial meeting in New York last week.

The Undisputed Champion Network, fronted by Steve Kim, discussed the January 28th Las Vegas fight in this week’s edition of ’10 Count.’

The panel of Kim, Dougie Fischer, and Michael Baca were split in their predictions, with host Kim and RingTV.com editor Fischer siding with Frampton. Baca, who somewhat infamously predicted that Santa Cruz would “destroy” Frampton in the first fight, is again picking the Mexican-American to prevail.

It’s a big change from the discussion of the first fight, which saw the panel unanimously side with Santa Cruz and predict, to varying degrees, a one-sided fight.
