Ryan Doyle gets title shot and chance for revenge

Featherweight Ryan Doyle [12(7)-1(0)-1] will attempt to claim the BBBoC English title at the second time of asking on July 16th.

The Manchester-born Dub fought to a highly-credible draw last November with champion Isaac Lowe for the belt. Lowe has since vacated the crown following his Commonwealth title win over Belfast’s Marco McCullough, allowing Doyle a second chance to grab the belt.

Indeed the title fight at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester is not the only second chance that ‘Ruthless’ Ryan has been afforded as the 24 year old will trade leather with Ian Bailey, the only man to beat him as a professional, for the strap.

The always-game Bailey, a former foe of Carl Frampton and James Tennyson, stopped Doyle in the tenth and final round of their entertaining clash back in September 2014.

The Steve Wood-promoted rematch also offers Bailey [13(5)-18(4)-1] a second crack at the English crown. The Slough man was outpointed by Matchroom star Josh Warrington for the belt in September 2013.

The rematch tops the bill at the Victoria Warehouse on a card the features support from local prospects Ben Sheedy, Sean Ben Mulligan, Jack Massey, and Olympian Joe Murray.
