Rea draws with rising Australian star
JOE Rea is fast becoming the Sunderland of Australian making it three draws in his last five fights on Saturday night.
‘Sugar’ Rea stopped rising star Bilal Akkawy’s winning streak on the opening bout of the Footy Show.
The four-round super-middleweight clash was described by local press as a tight tussle, with Rea landing some hard clean shots in the first half of the bout while Akkawy was busier with the jab, however according to reports neither was able to establish clear dominance.
Rea and his supporters hold a different opinion. Rea feels hard done by, by a number of recent decisions in OZ and his supporters believe although he didn’t get the result over the weekend he won the fight.
