Ray Moylette to fight in America next month
Ray Moylette will make his American debut in just his second fight.
The Mayo light welterweight former amateur star debuts in London on Saturday March 4th, and will be back in action just two weeks later as he makes a rapid-fire start to life in the paid game.
Irish-Boxing.com can confirm that ‘Sting Ray’ will feature on the Murphys Boxing card at the House of Blues in Boston on Saturday March 18th.
The Islandeady man joins his Celtic Warriors gym-mates Spike O’Sullivan and Niall Kennedy on the bill. Wexford’s Kennedy will fight for the Massachusetts State heavyweight title on the bill, while Cork’s O’Sullivan co-headlines alongside Mark DeLuca.
The card also features a New England welterweight title fight between champion Michael McLaughlin Owen of Donegal and Irish-American Danny O’Connor. As well as this there is also an appearance for Athlone welter Paddy Irwin.
26 year old Moylette, the 2011 European gold medalist, has turned pro under Assassin Boxing and will be trained in the pros by Paschal Collins.
His debut comes in just under three weeks at the fittingly-named Grand Connaught Rooms in Holborn.
