Philip Sutcliffe will fight for the first time since his sole career defeat on July 2nd.

‘Succo’ will be looking for a return to winning ways on an Oldham show that includes a number of British prospects.

Sutcliffe suffered a close points reverse to European #2 Anthony Yigit in Germany on May 7th and will be looking for a tenth green W on his Boxrec record when he fights in two weeks time.

Team Sutcliffe are confident he could challenge for the European light welterweight title before the year is out, and awaits the updated EBU rankings to see if they can push for a challenge once the Dubliner gets a win under his belt.

Irish-boxing.com believe Sutcliffe is hoping to secure a British opponent for the July 2nd card, making a conscious decision to steer clear of journeymen opposition as he tries to work his way up the ladder.
