New fight date for Craig O’Brien

Craig O’Brien [4(0)-0] will be back in the ring this Summer as the well-supported Dubliner continues his resurgence in the sport.

It has been announced this afternoon that the immensely talented light middleweight will box on the third Red Corner Promotions show, ‘For Honour & Pride,’ at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday June 24th.

It is a second fight date in four months for O’Brien who returned in February after over 17 months of inactivity.

This fight in February came on the Red Corner Promotions ‘Unfinished Business’ show where he stepped up to six rounds for the first time and outpointed game Spaniard Jorge Vallejo in what was his first fight under new trainer Paschal Collins.

In his forthcoming contest O’Brien will box again in a six round contest against hopefully another strong opponent ahead of a possible title fight in the Autumn.

The popular inner-city 28 year old brings with him a passionate following who are expected to be out in force again.

‘The Iron’ joins gym-mate Luke Keeler, who fights Darren Cruise for the Irish middleweight title, on the bill alongside Tallaght super middle Thomas Finnegan.

Ticket details for the card will be confirmed in the near future.
