Successful Return Of The Mack- Macklin returns with TKO win

The Mack is well and truly back – Matthew Macklin returned from a six month hiatus to record a second round KO victory over  Sandor Micsko in Birmingham on Saturday night.

Mack the Knife had not fought since his defeat to Jorge Sebastien Heiland in Dublin last November but looked sharp in defeating the experienced Hungarian Micsko.

A cracking right uppercut into the solar plexus, delivered as Micsko came forward, was enough for Macklin to seal victory in the second round.

The three time world title challenger had hurt the Hungarian in the first with another body shot, and it was a sign of what was to come in the second as Micsko crumbled to the ground after the powerful uppercut.

After the fight Macklin’s promoter Eddie Hearn said there are lots of opportunities for Macklin, in particular in America where a possible world title fight with Danial Jocobs could be in the pipeline for the end of the summer.
