Irish Lightening Ready To Strike Fear Into Light Welter Division

Dean Byrne is confident he can prove to new promoter Frank Warren that he is worth the hype with victory over fellow undefeated fighter Nasser Al Harbi (11-0) on July 9.

There is certainly no cotton wool treatment for the much touted Dubliner as the British Promoter seems to be testing him with a difficult first Warren outing.

However, Irish Lightening is confident he can not only impress Warren but strike fear into light welterweights in Europe with a comprehensive display against a talented welterweight.

“I think Frank wants to see what I am capable off. He wants to know if what he has heard is true or not. I am confident he will be impressed. I am going to give the light welterweight something to think about. They will all know I am one to watch,” Byrne told the Irish Mirror.

The 26 year old (14-0), who is also confident he will fulfil Freddie Roach’s prediction and become champion of the world, has endured a difficult time over the last few years, but is confident he can kick start his career with a win on the Murray Mitchell under card.

Indeed the Byrne, who is eager to make a ring return, believes title fights are on the horizon.

However, the former Crumlin amateur is aware he will have to be at his best to win on his Warren debut and he isn’t over looking his latest challenge.

“It has been a while since I boxed and I’m very eager to get back in there and do what I love win. I want to fight and entertain the boxing fans It is a good fight and a test for me at this stage of my career. I have faith in my own ability and I will fight whoever they put in front of me. I am confident I will win. If I prepare right I can beat the best of them. I will start proving that from July 9. I’m not looking past this guys, but there will be a tittle fight for me after this fight.”
