Ireland’s European Championship Off to a smashing start

Ray Moylette got Ireland’s European Championships campaign off to a fine start with a convincing win over Subhi Amara in

, Turkey yesterday. 

The 2008 AIBA World Youth champ stopped the Israeli in round two.

Moylette, from the St Anne’s BC in Westport, was 19-4 ahead when Amara took his third standing count late in the frame.

Moylette, was the only Irish boxer in action yestreday, will now meet

Ljubomir Marjanvic of Serbia in the last-16 on Monday.

John Joe Nevin, Willie McLaughlin, Con Sheehan and Cathal McMonagle will be between the ropes today.
