LOCAL hero Yana Alekseevna says she will have to be ‘crafty and smart’ against Katie Taylor, but is confident she can dethrone the current Queen of women’s boxing.

The Azerbaijani takes on the Olympic, European and World champ in the European Championship lightweight semi final and believes she is more than capable of beating the Bray puncher.

Speaking after beating Zinaida Dobrynina, Alekseevna was full of confidence about her upcoming women’s lightweight fight on Friday.”In this fight I needed to be a bit crafty and to act smart,” Alekseevna told reporters. “You always have mistakes, I am not a super master, but I have done everything told me by my coach.

“I’m not going to relax. I will fight till the end. I’m also not an easy rival. I’m so happy to fight for Azerbaijan. These spectators support you with all their heart and soul. It is such a big pleasure to prove to yourself and the spectators that you are the best.”
