‘How Ya Fixed Jono’ – Feargal McCrory Wants King Kong Showdown

Feargal McCrory has asked Jono Carroll how’s he fixed for December.

The Tyrone fighter sees the recently announced Anthony Cacace Belfast homecoming as the perfect platform for his first fight on home soil in seven years.

‘Fearless’ aslo sees the IBO title holder as the ideal opponent for the December 19 O2-hosted Queensberry bill.

Taking to social media after it was confirmed WBA wolrd champion Cacace would make his first defence against Ball, McCrory, who has fought out of New York for the last seven years, issued a direct challenge to the southpaw while also calling on Queensberry to get the deal done.

“Cacace, Nick Ball, super-featherweight title, unreal, great fight. But it has me thinking, you know, I haven’t been home in Ireland fighting in well over seven years.

“So I’d like to bring it back home, but it needs to be a worthwhile fight. It needs to be a big fight.

“How’s your schedule for December, Jono? I know you’ll be good to go. You know I’m good to go.”

McCrory then made it clear that he sees Carroll as the ideal opponent for a Belfast return.

“Let’s sell a shitload of tickets and bring a massive, massive fight back to Belfast,” he added.

“Let’s go Queensberry. Let’s get this deal over the line.”

Carroll fought on the last Cacace undercard, defeating Belfast’s Colm Murphy in Dublin.

The Frank Warren backed Royston Barney Smith has been vocal about wanting to fight Carroll and that is a fight Queensberry are likely to push again.

From an Irish prospective, the McCrory-Carroll dust is taster. However, the Brit may be a back up option for ‘Fearless’ if an all Irish battle of former world title challengers can’t be made.
