Harvey has the urge to inflict damage

The ‘Hunter’ is blood thirsty!

Lynn ‘The Hunter’ Harvey [1(1)-0] claims she has a strange urge to inflict damage ahead of just her second pro bout tonight.

The former Irish Novice, Intermediate, and Senior Champion takes on Spaniard Mary Romero [1(0)-2(0)] on the undercard of Celtic Warriors Gym stablemate Luke Keeler’s intriguing fight with Bradley Pryce at the National Stadium and claims there is ‘something different’ about her heading into this clash.

The Kilbarrack flyweight, who debuted with a first round knockout of Ivana Yaneva this time last year, admits to having an urge to do damage as she returns to the ring.

Harvey was keen to stress she is relaxed and confident, but just feels there is a little more bite ahead of this fight than her last.

“There is something different to me this time round,” she told Irish-Boxing.com.

I can’t quite pinpoint it, but there just is. Last year I was relaxed and confident and that hasn’t changed, but I feel more mad for the scrap. There is a little more bite about me and I more looking to having a fight than anything else.”

“I feel like I want to do more damage. I don’t mean that in a bad way or I really want seriously hurt anyone, but I do have a little more bite.”

After registering an impressive debut in front of one of the more vocal set of Irish fans, Harvey has had a frustrating wait for her second pro bout and she feels that time waiting may have prompted her to feel that bit more aggressive.

However, the Dubliner does try to take the positives and feels she has benefit from time with her coach Daniel O’Sullivan.

“I really things are going to start happening for me. There are already whispers of more fights and that is good, but I could be feeling this way because it’s been so long since I fought. I have been sparring but you can’t beat a fight.”

“I have to say I have spent the year learning and I put it to good use and I can’t wait to show some of the stuff we have been working on the in gym. I have progressed and Daniel has been working on certain shots with me that I want show on Saturday.”
