A number of Irish fighters are on the up Down Under. The likes of Dennis Hogan and TJ Doheny have done exceptional in OZ forging out World rankings after winning continental straps.
Welterweight Jake Hanney is next in line to forge out a reputation for himself in Australia and the Australian Boxing Commision certainly believe the fighter, who challenges for the WBA Pan Asian title next month, is one to watch.
The Commission have informed the three fight novice that he has Young Boxer of the Year and Prospect of the Year awards.
Hanney will collect his awards at ceremony on November 7.
