1958: Belfast lightweight Jim Jordan defeated England’s future British and Commonwealth champion Johnny Cooke to secure silver at the Commonwealth Games in Cardiff. Jordan had defeated home favourite Bernard Robson in the previous round but would be outpointed in the final by Scottish legend and reigning Olympic champion Dick McTaggart.
