An opponent has been named for Frankie Gavin’s return to the ring next weekend.

The former Irish light welterweight champion will face Croatian journeyman Ivo Gogosevic [12(5)-16(5)-2] on the undercard of Josh Warrington and Pajo Hyland’s featherweight clash at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Saturday July 30th.

All of Gogosevic’s wins have come in his home country, and the 31 year old Balkan fighter has lost all five of his bouts in Britain.

The six-round rust-shaking bout will be Gavin’s first in fourteen months since his IBF welterweight title defeat to Kell Brook.

The comeback fight will help Gavin [22(13)-2(1)] blow off the cobwebs ahead of a cross-city clash with Birmingham rival Sam Eggington on October 22nd.

‘The Savage’ also appears on the Leeds Rumble card, and looks to get back to winning ways against Daza Usher [9(3)-6(2)], following his British and Commonwealth title loss to Bradley Skeete in March.

Gavin’s bout is scheduled to take place during the portion of the card which will be live streamed on the Sky Sports website.

In addition to Gavin and headliner Hyland, there is also Irish interest in the form of World title-chasing bantamweight Ryan Burnett who takes on Mexican Cesar Ramirez.
