Change of management for Tommy McCarthy

Belfast cruiserweight Tommy McCarthy [9(5)-1(0)] has had a change of management as he looks to kick on his career.

It has been confirmed that the Lenadoon big man has left veteran Belfast manager Pat Magee and has linked up with Mack The Knife Global.

McCarthy has not fought since his British title final eliminator loss to Matty Askins last November. The Blackpool boxer would subsequently win the vacant belt against Craig Kennedy in Cardiff in March and will defend the strap for the first time on October 6th in Edinburgh against Stephen Simmons.

‘The Mac Attack’ McCarthy saw a proposed fight with Cork-Cuban Mike Perez fall through in June, and the 26 year old has since been sanctioned to face Luke ‘The Duke’ Watkins in a British title eliminator.

Magee remains the manager of recent British and Commonwealth super featherweight title challenger Anto Cacace.
