Big Dublin fight for Luke Keeler
Luke Keeler [10(5)-2(1)] has been handed a big fight on the Red Corner Promotions ‘Inception’ show in Dublin on November 5th.
The Ballyfermot middleweight will face Scottish or Welsh opposition over eight rounds for the Celtic Nations title at the National Stadium.
The title fight has come about following Keeler’s proposed date on the Matchroom show in Birmingham on October 22nd falling through. Matchroom now intend for Keeler to feature on another one of their cards before the year is out.
The bout on the South Circular Road will be Keeler’s first since his defeat in his Fight of the Year contender with Tom Doran in April – but the 29 year old does not plan to ease himself back into action. While an opponent is yet to be confirmed, the Dubliner hopes to secure a strong fighter for his comeback clash.
Keeler’s title bout will dovetail nicely with Celtic Warrior gym-mate Steve Collins Jr, who also boxes for a Celtic Nations belt, to form a strong headline portion of the card. Also featuring on the Red Corner show are Niall Kennedy, Lynn Harvey, Connor Coyle, Darren Mangan, Feargal McCrory, Ger Whitehouse, and Eric Donovan.
